Charlotte Flair loves cuddling AJ Lee

Charlotte Flair and AJ Lee had always been two of the sharpest, most competitive women to ever step foot inside a WWE ring. Their personalities couldn’t be more different—Charlotte with her royal swagger and championship aura, and AJ with her mischievous smile and unpredictable energy. But somewhere in the chaos of long travel days, backstage politics, and the pressure of performing every week, a strange little tradition formed between the two… one that no one in the locker room ever saw coming.

It all started during a particularly stressful week on the road. Charlotte had just finished a brutal, exhausting match on RAW, and she was pacing backstage trying to cool down. AJ, who had already wrestled earlier in the night, walked by eating a bag of gummy bears like it was nothing. She raised an eyebrow at Charlotte’s dramatic pacing.

“You look like you’re about to suplex a vending machine,” AJ said casually.

Charlotte whipped her head around. “I’m fine. Just… tired. Really tired.”

AJ looked at her for a moment, then stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Charlotte without warning. A full, tight hug. A squeeze, even.

Charlotte froze like someone had unplugged her. “AJ… what are you doing?”

“Resetting you,” AJ replied. “You’re too wound up. Hugging helps.”

The locker room stared in disbelief. The Queen, Charlotte Flair, embraced in a surprise cuddle by the smallest, quirkiest wrestler on the roster? It was the last thing anyone expected. But the funniest part? It worked. Charlotte actually relaxed. Her shoulders dropped, her breathing slowed, and she let out a sigh that sounded like it had been trapped in her chest for days.

From that day on, AJ took it upon herself to become Charlotte’s unofficial “stress hug provider.”

Anytime Charlotte got heated—during rehearsals, in creative meetings, after matches—there AJ was, sliding into frame with open arms, saying, “Cuddle time!”

Charlotte pretended to hate it at first. She would roll her eyes, turn away dramatically, or say, “AJ, I am The Queen! Queens do not cuddle!”

Yet somehow… she always ended up giving in.

Sometimes AJ hugged her from behind while Charlotte was lacing her boots. Sometimes she popped up out of nowhere in the hallway like a ninja hug assassin. And sometimes Charlotte even sought AJ out, doing it in an extremely subtle, extremely Charlotte way:

“AJ… come here. But don’t make it weird.”

AJ never listened. It was always weird—on purpose.

Soon the other wrestlers started whispering backstage. Some swore they saw Charlotte smiling after their backstage cuddle sessions. Others claimed AJ was the only person alive who could actually shut Charlotte Flair up. Even Bayley joked one night, “Forget the Women’s Championship—AJ’s real accomplishment is turning The Queen into a cuddly house cat.”

One night before a big pay-per-view, Charlotte walked up to AJ on her own. No excuses, no explanations. She simply opened her arms.

AJ grinned. “You’re getting soft.”

Charlotte smirked. “Don’t push it.”

They hugged—tight, comfortable, warm—and for a moment, the chaos of wrestling life disappeared.

Two icons. Two opposites. One hilarious bond.

And yes… Charlotte Flair loved every second of those AJ Lee cuddles.

Even if she’d never admit it out loud.
